Crude Oil Prices Fluctuate Downward; Cost Pressures on Plastic Granules and Downstream Products Ease
Since the second quarter of 2025, international crude oil prices have fluctuated within the $70–$80 per barrel range—a decline of approximately 15% compared to the peak levels recorded during the same period last year. Consequently, prices for raw plastic granules—such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP)—have stabilized, thereby alleviating production cost pressures on downstream products like plastic bags and packaging materials. Several export enterprises have reported a recent uptick in overseas inquiries, leading to expectations that exports of plastic products are poised for a moderate recovery in the second half of the year.
